YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center is a popular location for community gatherings. Frequent community, family, sporting, and faith-based events, such as baby showers, birthday parties, memorial services, and community basketball league games, fill the halls on a regular basis. The facility includes a full gym, commercial kitchen, large group meeting room, and small break-out rooms.

The Phyllis Wheatley Center has recently added a 20.5′ x 18′ dance studio space on the second floor with an Elite Springflex Dance Floor.
